What Is DTO UV Color Printing? DTO Direct-To-Object printing prints directly to the item and uses a UV Ultraviolet light curing process to dry the ink quickly on contact. This method offers many advantages over traditional printing, such as lower ink evaporation and less emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into the atmosphere. The printer's inks contain a mixture of monomers (small molecules which are the building blocks for polymers), photoinitiations (small polymers), and pigments (colorants). When cured, these inks instantly convert from liquid to solid, creating a unique print. DTO color printer inks are printed on wood, tile, glass, metal, plastic, and fabric surfaces. These materials are ideal for marketing and business applications, such as nameplates, product boxes, packaging bags, promotional item, awards, parts, electronics, drinkware, and more.
Our new DTO UV color printer allows us to print color on rigid substrates like ceramic, metal, electronics, acrylic, canvas, and wood. The DTO color printer can print on flat or cylindrical surfaces up to 4 or so inches tall. With DTO printers, cylindrical printing has become very popular. DTO printers can make endless graphics on cylindrical objects, from company logos to high-resolution photographs on water bottles, acrylic tubes, wine glasses, whiskey glasses, liquor bottles, wine bottles, and travel mugs.
